Lycée Dads Club is a club for Dads at the Lycée Français de San Francisco. We organize events throughout the school year, including our famous beach camping trip. We also meet up for beers once a month to connect, commiserate and plan coming events.
Our mission is simple:
"For the kids. For the fun. For the community."
Kids need community events outside of school to feel like they're part of something bigger. We organize these events.
Dads need community connection outside the home to feel like they're part of something deeper. We offer this connection.
Everyone needs fun, including Moms. So fun is our top priority!
To achieve our mission, we created the "Lycée Dads Club" 501(c)(3) non-profit. This ensures that all funding we receive, including membership fees and event revenue, is used to achieve our mission: to create more community and fun!
We also make a significant donation to the school each year ($10,000 in 2023-24).
We organize events throughout the school year, including:
🍻 Dads Beers
First (or second) Thursday of the month at Finnegan's Wake at 7:30pm. Come join us for unlimited 🍺 and 🍕. Next dates: Oct 10, Nov 7, Dec 5, Jan 9, Feb 6, Mar 6
🌤 Pétanque in the Park (September 8, 2024)
Free event open to all LFSF families. Meet us in the Golden Gate Park to play pétanque, sip pastis, meet the community and ease into the school year.
🏕️ Dads Camp (October 4-6, 2024)
Biggest event of the year! Join us for a weekend of beach camping on the shores of Monterey Bay, just south of Santa Cruz.
🎄 Winter Fair (December 8, 2024)
LFSF's holiday event. The Dads Club will be there to warm your belly with a healthy dose of hot cider.
💃 Daughter Dance (May 3, 2025)
Best night of the school year! Come experience the magic of North Beach as the daughters rock out on the dance floor and the Dads clink cocktails.
🌭 Kermesse (June 2025)
Another LFSF-organized event. Come bid adieu to the school year at the LFSF's summer fair. The Dads Club will be grilling meats and dealing drinks!
The LFSF serves kids from more than 600 families in SF and Marin.
We view ALL these families as part of our community. They include fascinating people from all walks of life, hailing from around the globe and working in industries across the spectrum.
They've all been drawn by destiny to the Bay!
Our goal is to help bring these families together — to socialize, to collaborate and to enrich each other's lives.

The Lycée Dads Club has roots stretching back to 2013, when a crew of ambitious fathers decided the school needed something it didn't have: a group of Dads working together to make fun things happen outside of school.
These fathers included founders Nico Ostermann, Brandon Hoyles and others. You can see the original crew here:
As the kids of these original founders got older and graduated, the baton was passed to Charles de Clapiers, who served as President of the club until 2022. In February of that year, Charles handed over the reins to current President, Joshua Parkinson.
In April 2022, the Lycée Dads Club officially became a 501(c)(3) non-profit.
